Advantages of serverless installation

USBSecure Enterprise and USBSecure OT do not require an active server component. Nevertheless, all settings are managed centrally. The central administration is realized with two network shares.

Specific advantages

► No effort in server maintenance
A server must be "operated" and causes effort and costs. This includes the actual operation, but also the upgrade to new operating system versions, possibly also to new hardware.

► No effort when upgrading USBSecure
If you want to install a new USBSecure version, you have to do absolutely nothing in the server environment. With a server-based system, you have a great effort, possibly even external specialists will be required.

► No security vulnerabilities
Since USBSecure does not have an active server component and thus does not provide a TCP port, it cannot have vulnerabilities like the Log4j vulnerability "Log4Shell".

► No hassle with databases
Everyone knows the case: "The databases move, adjustments have to be made". Not an issue with USBSecure, because there is no database.

► No service account
For USBSecure you do not even need a service account in your AD domain. The clients run under the system account and there is no server.

► Protection of small, separated networks
With a server-based system, protecting small, separate networks is an almost impossible task: You need a separate server for each network. With USBSecure, you create the two network shares you need within minutes.

► Standalone computer protection
The serverless installation also makes USBSecure particularly suitable for standalone computers. All configuration settings are stored locally - with minimal resource consumption.
